So I still don't get it, can somebody please explain if he was the only one showing up this summer 95 and who is the girl in red that you see at the end in person and her picture is all over the place in the film?

this movie made no sense - that's why you don't understand it
sharehaha it's surreal/absurdist. the only sane explanation i can think of is he's already dead 20 minutes into the movie (when he was taking the shower at the hotel and the secret police raided), the rest of the movie up to 10 mins before the end is just the flash of wild imagination/dream he had right before he's actually dead - this explains the slapstick/stage play segments that are incongruous to the rest of the movie's tone. the girl in red is possibly some one he entrusted the gears to and a lingering thought in his dying mind. i think the heli pilot at the beginning and the taxi driver at the end are the same person as one of the supporters of the ex-special force refugees and so is the girl in red.
