My new christmas tradition

Ever since I saw this TV special on ABC family a number of years ago I have been hooked on TSO. I taped the special on TV and my sister and I have watched it every year since. Our favorite section is the one featuring the TSO rendition of Carol Of The Bells. I also like Jewel and Michael Crawford...oh yeah and those great little kids singing! Ok so I like the whole thing but if you saw it, you would too!

I was delighted to walk into Best Buy this year and see that they had released the special on DVD so now my sister and I will be able to watch the special in DVD quality for many more years to come!

We're also very excited because we're going to get to see TSO live in concert at the Fleet Center in Boston on December 20th.

You will not be disappointed, Shannon. I just saw the Trans-Siberian Orchestra for the third time on 10/5 in Hershey, Pa. Their music is truly inspirational. Their show begins with the "Christmas Eve and Other Stories" story and at the conclusion of that, Chris Caffery speaks for a few minutes, then they start to rock out to Beethoven music and their newest Christmas CD, "The Lost Christmas Eve." This is one show you'll remember forever!

Seeing them in person has been MY Christmas tradition. Their concert is second only to Pink Floyd's The Wall with the storyline and magic.

The DVD is more like a home video, but the music is outstanding...and that's why it should be viewed annually, and be up there with Charlie Brown's Christmas.

Yes, I'm sentimental -- but that's life. I'm not a critic, but a mom.

This is also my Christmas tradition. I have it saved on my DVR. I still cry when the runaway girl comes home. I usually see it on PBS, but it should be on a major network every year.

Just stumbled across it randomly in a motel in West Virginia - had never heard of it, and really didn't grasp the TSO concept.

BUT wow - tears did flow and it has me googling to learn more about it, and now want to see what the TSO experience is like in person. Sure wish I could catch this one live (Ghosts of Christmas Eve) but at least it is preserved on DVD and the PBS station in Pittsburgh just happened to select it as part of their pledge drive this evening. I need a little Christmas ( oops that's another show ) right this very minute. Been a hard few years and not seeing much light at the end of the tunnel yet - but this was a beam of light tonight. Thank you TSO & WQED!

Not sure why it's been a hard few years, but I sympathize. Life is difficult. We have to find some joy and happiness where we can.
