Did he meet his father? (Spoiler)
So are we to assume that the fisherman Felix chatted with toward the end of the film was indeed his father? I suspect so.

Thanks very much for the response. It was just a random guy he talked to? Did the film make that clear? I couldn't really tell. I thought he had finally met his father but decided not to identify himself and not pursue the relationship. But it seemed very ambiguous to me.

It's probably left to the viewer's interpretation. It does seem that Felix created his own family on the road, so maybe the point of the ending was that anyone could be his father. Or maybe once he got to the destination, he was happy enough with his experiences that he didn't actually have to meet his dad.
I wonder if anyone who understands French could tell whether the actual dialogue (as opposed to the subtitles) explains it better? Or do you understand French?
