This Movie Could Have Been Something

Come on, zombie indians. That could be something special with a big enough budget.

Just of what you say and what the other guy wrote as the sinapse telling me "Not to watch the movie" plus, I already buyed it hehehe I'LL WATCH THE MOVIE!!!!

I love low budget films, so maybe I'll like it.

I'll come back with more info after I'm done watching ;-)

It's funny hearing authentic southern accents in a movie.

Like when David Cody (with his unibrow) says:
"Not the most eloquent of men, but he speaks the truth"

This movie put me to sleep the first time I watched it, and continues to do so, but I smirk at how they talk.

I think Lash LaRue says "Feel my whip, bitch!" to the zombie-indian and I laughed at that.

The whip duel was halarious too. The "Toltec" didn't have a clue what to do with the whip.

La Rue's catchphrases were simply the best.

'Yer comin' apart, DEVIL!'

I freaking LOVE this movie and will argue vehemently that if it had a larger budget and actual studio oversight it would have SUCKED. Because director Smoot (hehe) had no money & no real names or heavyweight personalities attached to the film he not only got to push it into uncharted waters, so to speak, but he had to rely on his wits and imagination to make it all pay off. I honestly have not had as much fun watching a movie for months as I had seeing this for the first time a couple weeks ago with some buddies & a case of beer. Which really is the way to see this movie.

We had no idea where the movie was headed at any given time and it escalated nicely in proportion to the runtime, waiting until about the 40 minute point to unlesh the gore. I also liked the social commentary worked in on the sly and especially the ordinariness of the way that it looked. If they had more money to build actual sets etc it would have lost that edge: It looks like the whole thing was filmed over at Tom Huntington's house off Randall Road rather than a bunch of movie sets. I'd rank it up there with DON'T LOOK IN THE BASEMENT as one of the better Regional Horror outings from the US and it deserves an actual restoration that goes beyond the VHS sourced public domain DVD prints going around.

I have to admit that I've had my eye on this since it appeared in the Oldies dot com catalog but I was worried about the video quality. Is it really that bad or would you say it's worth adding to the old video library?

BTW: Great write-up!

It was good silly fun. But no where even remotely on par with Don't Look In The Basement.

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.
