Was it really in a passing car that Babs and Williams heard of James death on a TV in Pinewood Security kiosk?

Kenneth Williams
wrote in his diary
that sid died at home?

reply

I don't know what Williams wrote but it's common knowledge that Sid (literally) died on stage in Sunderland.

No, it was made quite clear in Cor Blimey that he was appearing in The Mating Game at the Sunderland Empire. They even had his co-star calling for the curtains to be closed and the theatre manager calling for a doctor.

I think the sequence with Ken and Babs in the car seeing it on telly was dramatic licence. A really powerful moment, but not what really happened.

No, what Kenny said was that he was at home when he heard about Sid's death. Sid definitely died as shown in this.
