I think it all goes back to their days together on the radio version of Hancock's Half Hour.
For all that Sid had his faults, lack of professionalism at work wasn't one - and he couldn't stand KW's antics. (Or, perhaps, just couldn't understand)
KW, on the other hand, knew Sid was the only member of the Carry On team who wouldn't indulge him when he went off at a tangent.That indulgence might explain wht KW stuck with the Carry Ons despite his well-publicised animosity towards them.
I watched "Cor Blimey!" this afternoon - very enjoyable movie but to be taken with a pinch of salt, I feel.
I never watch the last few Carry Ons as the quality dropped markedly from "Girls" onwards...
