When the show first aired on television I recorded it. I have the old copy that I would like to have transfered to a DVD. I have also been trying to find a "better" copy because someone started recording over the show right in the middle of the show. So, until I can get it transfered to a DVD I'll continue to look for someone else that recorded it also and have the whole show.
I loved the play and I still watch it every now and then; the is about the best musical I have ever seen and watch over and over.

Same here. I'd love to find a copy. It's never been released. :( But one can hope. I was hoping that when Nell passed away they might see it fit as an excellent tribute. PBS doesn't seem too eager to dig into their older catalogue. Now that musicals are making a bit of a comeback, perhaps they'll reconsider. Sadly, there are so many recorded-for-tv musicals that have fallen into the black hole of unreleased video when even the most horrible of movies made in the past decade has made the cut.

A seller on eBay who sometimes sells copies on eBay but also sells privately. I just purchased a copy of the DVD from this person. I had also been looking for it either in VHS or DVD for about 20- years. All proceeds from the sales of this go to charity

shareI once had a vhs copy I made when the show aired on television back in the 80's.With all my job transfers and moving around the country it got lost.It would be quite nice for them to release this outstanding musical.Would be an added treat if it were in stereo surround sound.
I do believe they had introduced stereophonic sound for television broadcasts then.Not sure if this show was done that way.Pity if it wasn't.Nevertheless I would still be happy to get my hands on another copy.

Then one day, my nephew recorded an episode of HeMan over it. It was as if I heard the angels in heaven laughing at me. So please, If anyone gets a copy, let me know. I saw a copy being sold bootleg on ebay for a ridiculous price.....BUT what if we all wrote emails to PBS asking them to put out the show on DVD....in the long run the price and clarity will be better for all.
