is it possible for someone to explode like that?

If you have seen the movie, then you know that Meat Loaf gets blown up by taking Elmo's "fake" drug or something like that. Is it really possible for something like that to happpen?

im gonna go with no....even if the reaction created enough gas to create enough pressure to rupture the abdomen....theres just no way his entire body would up and explode. and yes, i do know a lot about chemistry, and i think he slipped something in the drink to react with the acid in the lining of the stomach. not sure though, but i honestly cannot see the entire body going kaboom.

noo, he sliped somthing in the drink to go in the stomach to get heated up. The bodys temp is 98.6 deg. If there was a chemical thats flash point was at 98.6 deg, and the reaction was a big explosion (somthing unstable like nitroglycerin[the one bottle could of been sulfuric acid, and the one bottle could of been nitric acid?) then boom goes the lizard dude.

Actually Elmo didn't put anything in his drink. The lizard just stopped off at a mexican restaurant for lunch on his way to the game.

You people need to rewatch the movie.

In the beginning, in Felix's lab,you see 2 small airplane liquor bottles full of some pink fluid. Later, you see the same / similar pink fluid in a beaker.

At the end of the movie, you see Elmo used THOSE SAME small liquor bottles when making the drinks at the futball game.

Back to the begginning...
When "the Lizard" calls Elmo, it activates the a bunsen burner, which heats the fluid, and causes it to explode!

Later, he makes some pink tablets that make the skinheads sh!at themselves. My guess is this was do to gas. The pink tablets probably had minute amounts of the pink chemical, that (at most) released gas when heated.

As far as a human exploding, there would need to be a great sudden increase in pressure, or an explosion. Since i don't think it was pressure, let's go with the explosion theory.

Glass of pink "liquor" being heated by body temp -> body boom

Without knowing what EXACTLY happened, it's hard to say either way.

But my guess is the pink chemical (as someone else said) has a flashpoint that is very low. Considering how much pink liquid caused the warehouse explosion, and if that was the same chemial (of varying potency), I'd say the Lizard could have popped like that.
