Toys??

When Felix and Dawn(Dakota) are "getting sentimental" in the bathtub, you can see bath toys falling out of the tub. Also, the last shot of the scene shows a toy frog or something hitting the side over and again. My question is: Why was there toys in the bath in the first place? Felix and his Mum seem a little old to be using bath toys. The no mention of little ones staying in the house with them either. The toys make the scene funny, but there is no reason they should be there. If there's a logical explination, please enlighten me. I'm very curious about why they're even there!
