Unfortunately

This show had the sad misfortune of overthrowing Strangers With Candy. As undoubtedly unbearable as that may be I have attempted to give this show a fair and honest chance. Unfortunately, (nice subject segue), I have not been able to give this show an unbiased attempt. So I guess the million dollar question is "Is this show worth it?"

reply

Yes, this was the show that put an end to Strangers with Candy, only it didn't gain a following. It would have probably lasted longer if they just teamed the shows up in an one hour block, instead of killing off a perfectly good show and replacing it with a somewhat alright show that died pretty quickly.

Because sponges never have bad days.

I for one never liked Strangers With Candy. Strip Mall was in my opinion head and shoulders above it.

Strangers With Candy was absolute gold its first season. By season two, the magic was gone, they had way too many guest celebrities, and it was just plain unfunny. Candy didn't get overthrown, they abdicated on their own.

Strip Mall was never gold but it did remain consistently amusing. One of those shows that you flip on at three in the morning, like TV Funhouse, and have a blast watching it. It was supposed to be stupid, that was the point.
