Why such a low rating?

It's no masterpiece, but it was an excellent family film. I know the premise is stupid, but it's well-executed and and the action sequences are top-notch. I think a bunch of people are giving this such a low rating because they saw it as a kid and didn't really remember it and assumed it was utter crap because of the premise alone. There really isn't much wrong with the film. Even the child acting is pretty good by child acting standards.

This is actually a great movie, espeically for a live-action kid's movie, cuz u know, most of the great kid's movies are animated. The majority of live-action kid's movies are horrible, but Spy Kids is obviously the exception.

I think the IMDB rating is SO LOW, cuz people see the 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, so they decide to hate the movie and rate it very low, cuz they want to feel special, cuz there is a LOT of hipsters nowadays. I swear, every time a movie is rated high, there is always gunna be those people that want to hate it & see it with a mindset,"Oh, this movie is gunna suck, its so overrated." I bet if this movie had like a 20% or 30% on Rotten Tomatoes, the IMDB score would be like 7 or 8, LOL!

Anyways, I wouldn't call Sky Kids a masterpiece, but I have little to no complaints about it. It's just a fun movie, it does it's job perfectly. & it's not cheesy at all!!! Unlike 99% of other kid's movie. Spectacular acting from the 2 main kids.

I think because it's adults who rate the films and they don't see them how kids do, as fun films. As a child I loved this film, and anytime it's on TV I will watch it because it's a huge dose of nostalgia.

Yes I was shocked by its 5.4 rating, haven't seen it for about 10 years but my memories of it are fond. At least a 7/10 and I'm 44
