Maybe they meant the fact that the guy from the tv show (forgot the character's name) kinda resembles wonka, the colorful enviroment and the fooglies (i think that's how htey call them) might be compared to oompa loompa, i'm just speculating but since no one else replies :P

Fyi, the character's name was "Fegan Floop" portrayed by Alan Cumming.

What about all that candy that magically appears in the cupboard and refrigerator?

reply

the floops are like oompa loopmas

I *hated* the Fooglies, especially that one, grinning purple one, was ugly. *shudders*

Also, the scene with everyone chasing the kids in jetpacks recreates the moment of Wonka's great glass elevator crashing through the roof of the factory. In this case, Carmen jets through the roof that is inexplicably covering the escape shaft.

Floop was clearly inspired by Willy Wonka.

reply

Floop is like a mixture of Willy Wonka and Peewee Herman.

reply

I've always thought this as well. The character had a magical eccentric madman quality like Wonka but with the childishness of Pee Wee Herman.
