I wonder if the ending was the only one considered?

Like, I could imagine an ending where Marie just up and leaves Francois and goes on to have wild sex and like, six kids :) with Bill, with Francois looking like the cuckolded wuss he is.

Or, the ending as it was, except that Marie's pills didn't quite work, and so some months later she gives birth to a beautiful brown baby, with more confusion following. :)

All the same, I think Francois was a total wimp, and I can understan Marie's jungle fever. Heck, I bet Bill could've kicked Francois's ass in 2 secs, heh-heh.
