How would it be a sequel? Deniro's character died in Heat

Yeah and in this one he did his very last job. He already had his girl and his bar, in fact, he was pressed into that last job. It doesn't really work either way.

Yes, there are some similarities to Heat, but this movie does not even begin to compare to Heat. Not saying this one is complete *beep* though, but Heat was a masterpiece.

It can't be a prequel to Heat because once you go black you don't go back.
