I was halfway through this movie when something hit me: one could argue that it contained the three best actors, respectively, of three successive generations if one divided them as 50s & 60s (Brando), 70s & 80s (DeNiro, apologies to Pacino; call it a tie) and 90s & 2000s (Norton, maybe).
shareGreat cast and they were all very good. But I had to walk out on it. The scores were just To complicated to be believed. I know a thousand thieves no one I know could do a score like the one in the movie. It just physics what he took an ex lax before the robbery :)
This is a typical score steal a truck this was before 9/11. Crash throw the front doors of kings plaza. Crash into a jewelry store just before the last movie finishes. Take what you can grab and drive out. That's a score in my eyes. Hijack a truck or break in some where and rob the place.
The one in heat was like that get a big truck crash into an armoured car. That is a score.

Many are scientists in the rigor they display while plying their trade, you just hung out in the wrong club with the wrong class of thieves.
I agree on that.....plus at least two out of those 3 are hard to work with. I've heard both ways on Deniro but Brando and Norton there no question

shareI don't hold Norton in high regard like Brando and De Niro, but I'd say he was the best actor to work with those two. As far as best cast ever goes, I'll just say it's great to see two of the most respected and influential actors in cinema, De Niro and Brando, acting together in a film (even if they were past their prime). And, yes, Norton is perfect in this.

Hard to say about greatest cast because there are some films that just have tons of great actors in it, even if they have small cameos. However, I might say this is the best trio of actors to ever share a scene together.
shareI don't think this can stand up to some other movies. Heat was already mentioned - Deniro and Pacino in the same movie and you also get, among others, John Voight, Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore, William Fichtner and Natalie Portman!
Or what about True Romance? Christian Slater, Dennis Hopper, Val Kilmer again, Brad Pitt, Gary Oldman, Samuel L Jackson and effing Christopher Walken!
Or what about Pulp Fiction? Samuel L Jackson, John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Bruce Willis, Harvey Keitel, Ving Rhames, Christopher Walken, Eric Stoltz and even Steven Buscemi.
Maybe thre isn't this big of generation gap, but still.
