Passion of a rapist!

I'm late to the party. So late that,I know,I won't even be served but wanted to post this anyway.

I see most people here going gaga over the romance shown in the film but nearly no one seems bothered by the fact that one of the lovers,in fact the most romantic character of this film is a rapist! He was madly passionately in love with his partner but he did molest a guy holding him at gunpoint.

I absolutely love this film.Well executed,brilliantly acted.Of course.The romance is portrayed with such beauty and delicacy it almost has a hypnotic factor in it.But that molestation thing is also a reality of the character El Nene. His passion for Angel has been heavily discussed with awe but there hardly has been any talk of his sadistic nature.Not just this board but even the critics seem to have overlooked it as if it were no big deal or was this too big of a taboo to to even mention?

I can only imagine what the reception would have been like had the rape victim been a woman and the rapist later died in his lover's arms receiving a promise of eternal companionship.
