Bad Girl Pasta?

Might be one of the most random questions pertaining to this movie, but it goes for the food buffs out there...

Remember the Pasta that John Favreau's character made for his daughter?

Is this an actual pasta dish?

I believe it was something to the effect of 'pasta pudinska' or 'bad girl's pasta'... Well I tried to make it the other day and it came out pretty well for some leftovers on a budget. I took some diced tomatoes, onions and pasta and threw it in a pan with some angel-hair pasta and butter and pan fried it.

Anything else that I missed?

Puttanesca, not pudinska.

He called it bad girl pasta because The name originated in Naples after the local prostitutes, Pasta alla Puttanesca meaning "Pasta the way a whore would make it".

My Italian father once told me it means "Sauce of a Whore". From then on, I love puttenesca.

Puttanesca is said to have been named for the spicy "working ladies" of Naples. Puttanesca appropriately describes a potent sauce that packs a spicy-salty punch of capers, olives, and anchovies. Here's what you'll need . . .

1/2 lb dry linguine
2 tbsp extra vergin olive oil
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tsp anchovy paste
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1 can whole tomatoes
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup pitted slivered kalamata olives
2 tbsp capers
2 tsp dried oregano leaves
3 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
* Kosher salt to taste
