Battle Royale is a pretty damn good Japanese film. Lots of gorey deaths involving young Japanese school children....tis a disturbing but, very interesting movie. I highly recommend Battle Royale, Suicide Circle(aka Suicide Club), and Koma.
shareElectric Dragon 80,000V is a superb embodiment of the cyberpunk style and ethic. It's only about 50 minutes long, put has a high replay value, and well worth investing in. I think Unearthed Films (who put out Pinocchio 964) is planning to release it.
shareUnearthed lost the rights to "Electric Dragon", but it was distributed by Discotek released with it's soundtrack. It is right up there with "Tetsuo", "Eraserhead", and "Rubber's Lover". "Electric Dragon 80,000V" is one of the greatest cyberpunk films on Earth.

You might like Bullet Ballet and Tokyo Fist aswell. Same director as Tetsuo and that same gritty black and white style. Also by him I'd recommend A Snake Of June, Gemini and Vital. While they are a little more arty than those gritty black and white films he does they're still pretty cool/weird. He's also done this straight up Horror film called Haze which is also pretty *beep* up.

People! haven't you ever heard about "el maestro" Jodorowsky? he was already making mystical-surrealistic-blasphemous movies when most of us where in pampers or not still in this world.
OK they ain't "cyber punk" flicks but neither "Eraserhead" is.
Not to mention Buñuel. Just watch "L'Age d'Or" and you'll know why it's considered a masterpiece and one of the most disturbing movies ever made (if not the most disturbing).
the difference between Jodoroswky films like "El topo", "The Holy Mountain", "Santa Sangre"; Buñuel films such as "Un chien andalou", "L'Age d'Or", "Simón del desierto", "El ángel exterminador", etc. AND "964 Pinocchio" is like day and night.
There is also an old movie called "Freaks" directed by Tod Browning. If you think the characters in "964 Pinocchio" were "bizarre" and "weird" that's nothing in comparison with the "things" you will see in "Freaks".
Those are my recommendations. Hope you could watch some of them even if they ain't "cyber punk" movies.
