Pooky and Foofoo...maybe Foofie?

A short involving puppets that were a pillow and a springy type thing. They dwelled in a bed surrounded by a jet black background. Can't find any information on them when internet searching. Anyone else remember this?

Yes!!! Oh thank goodness I am not the only one who remembers this...starting to think I imagined it.

I remember the opening song going "His name is Foofy" "Her name is Pookie" "We live together!!"

I can't find anything on it either...

You are definitely NOT crazy. I remember this short very well. I remember it tended to come on towards the end of the show. The characters lived in a bed with like, a white iron headboard but the bed was situated to the right of the screen and you had a side view of it. Then, I think there was maybe some sort of wardrobe over to the left. The background was black and the colors were all super pastel-soft pinks and whites against the black. One of the characters was a boy and the other a girl and they had like the trippiest voices. Like, oh man you'd have to hear me in person I can do those voices perfectly. I swear there was one episode where the spring-thing had fallen off the bed and the girl (I guess maybe the blanket/pillow was a girl?) was trying to coax it back up, like "C'mon mannnnnn, you can do itttttt." Mind you I was probably four or five so my memory isn't perfect. The spring could go various places around the screen if I remember right, like on top of the headboard and maybe even on top of the wardrobe. It was super creepy, but those like "Far out mannnnnnn" voices just made the whole thing like, you couldn't turn away. I actually went so far as to email the people behind Pinwheel to ask if this was one of their puppet sketches and I never heard back. They were string puppets. It wasn't animated. I remember they had names like Oofie and Pookoo. I probably didn't add anything helpful but no, you aren't crazy!

Oh man!

I remember the jet black background, and the white headboards of the bed. I don't remember any specific episodes, but I remember the voices of the main characters - which I remember being "Pookie" - the blanket, and "Foofy" - the mattress.

I remember Pookie the blanket was female, and had like a French accent. And Foofy kind of had a "jolly" male voice. And I remember the opening theme song being "His name is Foofy, her name is Pookie! And we live...TOGETHER!!"

I cannot find *any* information on this short anywhere online....

It's so nice to finally see some responses! This is a huge unsolved mystery. I've spent hours watching old Pinwheel episodes and obscure puppet shows on Youtube. I even corresponded with Flexitoon, who did many of the puppets on Pinwheel, about this subject but they were no involved with this short. I had a couple people respond to me via a Youtube comment but again they are like us and only remember the short but have no clips or specific information. WE WILL FIND ANSWERS ONE DAY!

Ha! I actually googled this years ago and it led me to a message board here where someone else was asking about the short back, maybe 2006 (it looks like that post has been deleted though)? I haven't seen any episode of Pinwheel for years; and I really have to say I only saw maybe 2 "episodes of this short." We used to go to my grandmother's house some mornings and I saw both there; back when early Nickelodeon used to have those whooping long blocks of Pinwheel for hours at a time. Another short I remember fondly was a little girl skipping through a big garden and picking flowers to eventually give to her grandmother. That was one of the longish, live-actor sequences with the calliope type music that would end with "Pinwheelllll" and the logo. I'm impressed the Flexitoon people got back to you! If they didn't make this short, chances are it was probably made in another country and used with permission, as many of those cartoons were. Well, it's nice to know other people remember this! I'll keep looking. I wonder if a lot of the old Pinwheel tapes are lost or just haven't been digitized? I'd love to see the whole series. We'd definitely find it then!

You know that's funny. That may have been me posting about this short in 2006. I've been trying to find information for that long. This is like my grail quest. A grail quest I forget about for 2 years and then frantically take up for about 2-3 days before forgetting about it again. 

you are not alone, twf1105!! I have tried so many various google searches and cannot find *anything* on it. It's a testiment to how jam packed Pinwheel was with various clips and shorts that there would be a short like this that is lost to the ages.

Or hopefully not. I hope someday to find this short and line up the reality to my 30+ year memory!

Seriously...SOMEBODY has to know SOMETHING....
