vietnamese song

does anyone know the name of the song the family sings near the beginning of the film?

reply

No, but get the DVD & read credits at end. Assuming you can read the Vietnamese.

"Cuoi cung cho mot tinh yeu" by Vietnamese songwriter Trinh Cong Son.

The soundtrack is available via French import and includes the traditional Vietnamese songs, the Western songs played in the movie (Lou Reed, Arab Strap, Married Monk), along with the film's score.

Two songs sung by the crowd are "Nang Thuy Tinh" (crystal sunlight??) and "Cuoi Cung Cho Mot Tinh Yeu" (end of a love affair??), by Trinh Cong Son. The songs at the credit rolling is "Rung Xua Da Khep" (past forest has closed??) also by TCS.

Yes, that's right.

The 3 Vietnamese songs in the film were all composed by Trinh Cong Son and sung by Vu Thanh Xuan. The excellent guitar playing was done by Nguyen Quanh and Ha Truong Kieu.

I just wonder which song is which. In what scenes were they particularly sang? However, the group song was very moving and the song played at the end credits was really haunting. I couldn't help but hum it if I remember it.

Are there websites where I can particularly hear these songs? Help!
