*spoilers* HOLLY = INSANE?

WHAT in the WORLD?? It's new years eve, I finish work and I decide to pay $5 to watch what I believe to be a lighthearted comedy.

The movie is okay then in the last 10 minutes they get ENGAGED, are SUPER HAPPY then all of a sudden Holly gets drunk, (SUPPOSEDLY) and has oral s*x with chad (which she would NOT do with her boyfriend) and has S*X with Chad AND the girl she hates. Her boyfriend comes into the room and sees the 3 of them sleeping together and Holly is upset? What in the world? I mean, by the time the credits were rolling I was sitting infront of the TV stunned. you NEVER expect a movie to end this way in the last 10 minutes!!

AND by the way - WHY did Holly end up with that same rich punk from the start of the movie? Maybe she really WAS having sex with him.

I agree with you completely. The ending was such a huge *beep* downer. In the end, Holly turns out to be a bitch after being all nun-like throughout the rest of the movie and not wanting to have sex or even oral sex with her fiance/bf/love of her life. I mean wasn't she supposed to be responsible or atleast angry as the associate (and I use that word loosely) landlord after seeing the party?? Why wasn't she mad at them? Why wasn't she mad at Nicole for making her goto work while they partied?? And then she gets very very EASILY coerced into drinking and getting drunk and then sucking Chad's dick and having sex with both of them after everything she said to Reno???? WTF??? No sense at all. I wouldn't recommend this movie at all. And her ending up wit that stupid rich punk???? Who the hell wrote that in??? Was she really THAT desperate 10 months later??? Oyyyyyyyy! Avoid like the plague coz otherwise this movie will leave you regretful of having rented/borrowed it.

So before you saw this movie you thought that the world was empty on losers?

reply

Not really. But I thought the script writer should have put in more of an effort as far as telling the story was concerned. If you're gonna make a movie, that's the least you can do. If not, suffer the low ratings and low sales/rental.

ya that sucked the end, i laughted when she tryed to turn it around on reno when she said he wanted to have sex with the blond chick, i would have back handed her and really kicked her to the crub, he's better off now, hes making more money and if it were real he would find a better chick, one that wouldn't cheat on him or be easly talked in to having sex with sone one that is not her husband.

i know if it was my wife, and i found her in a bed with another guy and chick i would be in jail for a triple murder. but thats just me. i plan to take my vow of only being with 1 woman after i get marry very seriously. only cowards cheat on there g/f or b/f.

It was a HORRENDOUS ending. This is mainly because, as someone stated above, it was totally contradictory to Holly's established personality to do what she did at the end of the movie. The director/writer should have hinted throughout the film that Holly was that kind of person. Judging by how she's portrayed throughout the majority of the film, there is NO WAY that she could have been coerced into doing what she did. Totally out of character.

There were a few details that didn't get shot due to a fast 15 day schedule. There were plans during the editing to go back and shoot more footage to better support Holly's radical behavior.

This included a scene where Holly runs into Nicole at the local grocery store when Nicole is buying supplies for the party. Nicole lies and says she's "going" to a party instead of saying she's "having" a party. Nicole gushes about how much energy Chad has and even hints that she'd be open to having some help keeping him happy. Holly is interested but pretends she's not.

Later that night, Holly walks in on Chad and Nicole at the party and we actually see them coaxing her to let loose. On her face, we actually see her cross the line over to being a cheater.

And there would have been a happier ending. At the end bar scene, there would have been a bit where Holly sees Reno on screen and then steps outside to smoke. Reno calls her out on her smoking, we see they care about each other, and it ends with Reno and Holly driving off together to go have some coffee and talk. Maybe they'll get back, maybe not. But at least this way, we know they still have feelings for each other and it could prove to be just one step in a journey for them.

However, the extra money to shoot another day would not be authorized and the movie went out "as is."

It was almost like two movies that had the reels mixed up.

The ending would have been great if there had been more groundwork laid leading up to it (like Holly lost a record deal and was already drunk when she got home. She was angry and annoyed and her fiancee wasn't home and Chad starts taking polaroids of her and Nicole and one thing led to another...)

I think it would have been even better if they had made it look like Reno was going to get the threesome with Holly and Nicole, and at the end he gets Menageblocked by Chad...

To me, that would have been a far worse ending, not to mention totally unrealistic. She did the one thing she knew ahead of time would destroy him. After all his talks with her about it, there is no way he would ever forgive and forget. To me, it felt better having him on his own. Seeing them together at the end would not have constituted a happy ending as far as I'm concerned.

I liked a lot of the movie. The threesome was truly jarring, but other than the timing of it, I wouldn't say it was a complete surprise. She was humping Chad's leg from the minute he showed up at the house. She immediately went inside and curled up on the seat and was having a fairly intimate conversation with him when her boyfriend showed up. I just don't think having her crawl in bed with them under those circumstances (comes home sober and angry at the giant party that was trashing their home) was the best way to set it up.
