i rented it today as a "new" film, but i see here it's from 2000?

Since it's now 2005, this film would only be 5 years old.

I don't even think it was new to DVD, as I have owned in for quite some time. Strange.

This was a remake of a Preston Foster movie of the 1930's about a pipe fitter who became a mole for the OSS.

Nothing exists more beautifully than nothing.

My guess is it was never released to theaters and was one of those "straight to DVD" films. I have it in my film library but have never viewed it.

It is playing right now (I think on PAX - channel 12 DFW).

Looks liks a down-to-Earth "Boiler Room," with a better cast.

Now that I have seen most of the movie, I think this must be written by the guy who wrote "Boiler Room," because it is the same movie.
