Injong sajong polkot opta a.k.a. Nowhere to Hide

When I saw this South Korean movie at the http://www.viff.org, it was eye-candy. In a port city where violence abounds, a drug boss is viciously stabbed to death by the drug lord Chang Sungmin(Sung-Ki). Detective Woo(Joong-Hoon) is the cunning police detective who pursues the elusive Sungmin in a maze-like chase. Along the way, Woo and his men hunt down and apprehend the underworld mobsters and beautiful Juyon(Ju-Woo), Sungmin's lover. But Sungmin remains at large, a master of disguise and escape, until the final showdown with supreme detective Woo.I bought it at the Virgin Megastore, and wondered if anybody else has seen it?

I bought this at a video sale at HMV in the UK, having seen the quite awesome trailer for it on the Ring video. It really is an amazing film- my two favourite scenes are the murder in the rain at the start, and the scenes during the snowstorm. Sadly, I don't really know many other people who are willing to seek out Asian films, as there have been some fantastic ones released in the last few years- particularly Battle Royale and Audition.

My favourite scene:The cops break into Sungmin's girlfriend's place to await his arrival. Finally, there's a knock at the door, and the slow-motion scene looks like a Keystone Cops scenario: It was the funniest part. The scene in the rain is also my favourite. So many to chose from.

Very enjoyable film, if a little bit patchy here and there; but overall some good stuff. You can buy this film very cheaply aswell online. I even got it free at yesasia in a deal.

I love the no-nonsense fight scenes and the in-plausible way the bad guy appears everywhere and how they find out what's going on and stuff - good shiz :)
