I saw a cut-to-the-max version and need help!
Hi! I did rent "Brother" and it was a *beep*-ty 90-Minute-Version (German one). They let out EVERY gunfight, except the scene when Denny hits/saves Kitano, and the first shot when these latino guys capture Kitano in his car in the beginning.
So I have some questions, perhaps anyone can help:
1. Is there any fight in the flashback scene in the beginning? There is some police later entering the hotel where the yakuza are gathering.
2. Who was guy who tried to kill Takeshi Kitano and holds a gun at his head?
3. What happens to Kato? The last scene hes seen he offers his life to Sitsake (?) and mysteriously disappears from the cutted version?
4. There seems to be some trouble when Sitsakes men join Kitanos gang. One of the black pointed his gun at Sitsake, who says he is in dept. What was that?
And the end was totally confusing in that version:
5. There is a call by the mafia. They say they captured Kitanos girlfriend and he shall come alone. In the cutted version, this sub-plot also disappears mysteriously. What happened?
6. Theres a short scene where Kitano reads a letter to Kato and then his former pardner in Japan is scene, in an traditional
7. Kitanos men take on the mafia in a villa and lose. After that, you see several dead people lying on the basketball floor, with Kitanos brother sneaking in and opening the tresor. Was there an revenge attack of the mafia or what?
8. In the end, there is one single shot with Kitanos brother laying dead in the desert. I have no explanation.
Final question:
Who the hell is responsible for that max-cutted version, that no one is able to understand? It was an 16 age +, but even in TV you can see more in movies of that age - it was like you cut all a bit creepy scenes out of "Poltergeist".
