One of my favorite gay movies

This is a pretty funny movie. And yes it does show stereotypes, it doesn't really perpetuate them. That's just how some gay people are. Can't complain about every movie that's made because you can claim stereotyping in ANY movie.

This movie was funny, it showed a group of friends who are always there for each other. It's got each type of person in a group. Gay or straight. You can see this in all groups of people. Their attitudes, their mannerisms. I think this movie is pretty classic

This movie also kinda helped me with my coming out. I was already pretty much out, but seeing this funny movie and having a group of gay friends made it more bearable and showed me that there are fun places to go, gay softball teams, gay restaurants, etc. I'm from a small town in the Midwest and gay life there sucks! So this movie kinda showed me that there was more out there. I think most guys coming out should this movie. Just so they can get a good laugh

Another gay movie I like is TRICK; with an attractive cast and (believe it or not) Tori Spelling is a revelation!
It ,also is funny and sweet.

Nashville in the early 70s wasn't exactly a gay Mecca. There was one kink-free gay bar and only a few cruising spots. Nonetheless, I met the man with whom I've been partnered for the last 41 years, as of June 21.

Everything you say about why this movie is good are true, cubearcub. I like Broken Hearts Club better than movies like Brokeback Mountain, The Birdcage, and several other gay-themed movies that have been pretty lame.
But I've got to recommend for you my favorite gay-themed movie (indeed, my absolutely favorite movie of all). It's even better at portraying how much life stank for a person who grows up in a small town, a long way away from an organized gay community. But despite how much it hurts to be isolated from a gay community like the one in West Hollywood, a gay teenager can grow up with a feeling of gay pride anyway. The movie is called Get Real, made in England in 1997.

There appears to even be an online version of the whole movie. (I've seen it before, but it seems to be taken down, put back up, taken down, etc.)
