Does this have anything to do with HP Lovecraft?
Outside of the word "reanimator," does this film have ANYTHING to do with any stories of HP Lovecraft? (Only actual readers of HPL need reply.)

shareOther than the previously mentioned Re-Animator, the only real connections to H.P. Lovecraft's work are the character Herbert West, such as he is, and the reagent. Maybe a concession can be made for the over use of rats, a common theme in a number of Lovecraft's stories, but that is just grasping at straws.
If you were looking for Cthulhu or the Great Old Ones that isn't going to happen. I am not certain if they even really factor into Herbert West: Re-Animator, having never gotten the time to finish the book myself.

Other than "borrowing" Dr Herbert West, Miksatonic U, and the concept, no...absolutely nothing. The Re-Animator series, other than the borrowing of names, bears NO resemblance to a HPL story.
