The Accountant is definitely worth watching and owning. Like so many great films, it holds up to, and in fact demands multiple viewings.

The Ginnymule.com site is down, but the Yahoo link seems to be fine:

Clocking in at 35 minutes, this is one tight, funny, and viciously brilliant bit of satire. 1st off, Ray McKinnon throws everything he's got into this well crafted little morsel and shows us that, like the oft mentioned Billy Bob, Ray is, indeed, the "Real Deal". A triple threat, he wrote a razor sharp script, skillfully directed himself giving a tour de force performance that is hilariously immitatable, vivid and absolutely unforgettable. A highly charged, comedic persona that comes from someplace deep inside himself, just as Carl Childers did for B.B.Thornton in "Sling Blade".

It's jam-packed with great, quotable lines, like, "I'll show you some numbers that'll make yer head spin", and "Some yankee'll come paint the family farm fucia and turn it into a bed and breakfast- I've seen it happen!"

The greatest compliment to any film is that it gets better with age and merits many viewings. Just like all the great dark comedies, such as Lolita, Cable Guy, Fight Club, Naked, My favorite Year, Henry Fool, O'brother where art thou, & Dr Strangelove, there is an imminently memorable quality to Accountant, which is really saying something, considering it's just a short. It's not merely funny, it really has something to say about a vanishing way of life.

Bravo, to Ray McKinnon, and his producer/partner Walton Goggins, (younger O'Dell brother) for giving us something to celebrate!

Watch them, -they're a force of nature, like Billy Bob and the Coen Brothers.

I love the Accountant. That was a great post. I agree with all you wrote. The accountant is one of the greatest films of all time even if it is a short. I have shown it to no less than ten individual times to an audience of either one other friend or three other friends. Each time I instructed them that this would be a talk free viewing as this movie is powerful with each word, each expression, each gesture, each film angle and background equally significant. The setting in beautiful Covington Georgia (within an hour’s drive of ATL) is a natural work of art seen through the cinematographic genius of Ray McKinnon. Walton Goggins and Eddie King are brilliant in this film. Don't take for granted the outstanding performance by the family farm dog, Lucky.
Ray McKinnon turns in one of the top works of art in the history of cinema with his terrific trifecta as writer, director, and actor (he is the accountant)
This movie is a must own for any serious film collector and you pretty much have to own it to view it as it is not available in any video stores to my knowledge.
If you like this film you will probably want to check out the Drive-By Truckers, an awesome band straight or almost straight out of Athens GA. DBT's Patterson Hood introduced me and thoud=sands of their fans to the accountant as he introduced his song sinkhole which was inspired by the Accountant. Patterson, who always looks like he walked out of a mountain wood and stepped onstage, introduced the song sinkhole by saying it and the accountant are about saving the family farm no matter the cost. Thank you Paterson Hood and DBT for all the great music and for introducing the Accountant to some many people.
Search the Drive-By Truckers to find out more about them and to buy their music. It is all good and some of it is actually great in my opinion. It is country rock or alternative country or Americana. Most folks call it rock n roll.

I'm looking for it as well. I did find a copy for sale on Amazon for almost fifty dollars, but that's bit out of my price range. I plan on contacting Ray McKinnon's agent. If I find out, I'll let you know.

Buy the damn thing if you can, don't spend more the 25 or so. Don't copy it or download it, download metallica, they don't need the money. Ray McKinnon is out there making good movies which inspires good music, support him.
