Where on a Rambo timeline would this have taken place?

One would think after First Blood II and before Rambo III, but after watching some of this I'm going to say if it is to be taken as cannon (and I know it is not b/c it is a kids cartoon and heavily censored) it would have to be after Rambo III b/c Rambo's personality of cracking wise and so easily agreeing to go on missions only fits with his coming full circle that occurs at the climax of that movie. However, how do you account for his retrogressing to his rebellious angry nature in John Rambo?
