"willie is a 'buddy' of the lord's."

Actually, he is really an evil demon who merely met the LORD at a social gathering in the 80s.

He may be a man of his convictions, but why would that make people jealous of him ("jealous" is not a proper noun, so there was really no need to capitalize it in the middle of a sentence). You can always tell the people who have been ridiculed in the past, because they always claim that jealousy is the source or ridicule. It is not. The real reason that we make fun of Willie Ames is because he is a joke. He is an adult human being who acutally believes in magical men in the skies and angels and miracles and whatnot. Honestly, he does! He is a fully grown man who believes that he'll be sent to a fiery eternity of punishment if he doesn't do what an ancient book tells him to do. If it weren't done under the guise of religion, he would be in a mental institution.

So, billntwrk, no. I am not jealous of Willie. I find him slightly pitiable and incredibly ridiculous. And, yes, I laugh at him. heh heh heh. HA. HA HA HA. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

To Willie Ames! A joke among jokes!

Aames turned to Jesus for the same reason so many in his profession do: it's what's called an emergency conversion and it happens all the time in stressful situations. "Hollywood kids" are prone to it because they enjoyed the fame, the money, the partying, and one day it's all over. In order to deal with the enormous, disastrous disappointment, they throw themselves to God. Now they are free of resonsibility for their past actions, they can toss it all on God's shoulders and HE'LL handle everything for them. It causes a relaxation of tension.

New inmates in prisons frequently go through it as well. When you're troubled, when fear stalks you, it's nice to know the Guy in the Sky is looking out for you.

Apparently, Willie Ames' "convictions" tell him that killing people is ok, if they do things like gossip. That's what Bible Man does. Which means that Eric Rudolph and Paul Hill are also men of their convictions. I don't think anybody is jealous of those clowns, either.

No crap. The guy's a huge fugging hypocrite. I can't wait until they do an episode about Halloween.

And, to clarify; it's nice to "believe" that a magical man in the sky watching out for you. If you claim to "know" that God exists, you're a fool. You 'believe' (despite the absolute lack of evidence) that God exists.

reply

There is more evidence for God than for the Big Bang theory. Do you believe that one?

"There is more evidence for God than for the Big Bang theory. Do you believe that one?"

True. Personally I don't why there cannot be a God and the big bang theory and evolution.

reply

I supposed God could've initiated the Big Bang, since he exists outside time and space as we know it. Of course, a sort of evolution does take place, but I believe the whole single common ancestor thing is bunk.

...FYI, there isn't any evidence that indicates that any sort of a god exists..you know that, I hope. Please tell me that you do...

reply

There isn't anything you would accept as proof, but then, someone like you would never accept anything as proof. You can claim you would all you like, but if God did any number of seemingly impossible things to prove it to you, you would just find a way around the truth, like claiming that it was really some alien being with technology far beyond our understanding that was doing it-embracing the whole "sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" idea, or, in that case "indistinguishable from supernatural intervention". Take your arrogant, know-it-all attitude and stuff it. Don't try to tell me what I know or don't know, since I know a heck of a lot more than you do.

reply

Ah; here's the problem; you THINK you know a lot more than I do. You KNOW a lot less than I do. But that's EXACTLY the problem with religious people...who can never convince them that they're wrong. When you believe you know something, but it's false, you can't be convinced otherwise. And that's fine, but you shouldn't insult the intelligence of people who refuse to believe in "magic". It makes you seem...primitive.

reply

Would you care to actually present some of your so-called "evidence" for the existence of God?

By the way, there's a difference between "evidence" and "proof" just like there's a difference between "fact" and "belief." Please look into it.
