This was 'Deep Blue Sea 2'

My uncle knows a guy who works for Nu Image and David Worth. He said that originally this was going to be made as "Deep Blue Sea 2." Warner Bros. had some sort of agreement with Nu Image and David Worth. As you can tell, the idea of genetically altered sharks was pretty similar to DBS. They were even changed from Mako to Great Whites.

I for one am glad that the idea fell through and that this was released as Shark Attack 2 because DBS was good and should not have a sequel.

Well that's a lie. Nu Image is a studio, and Warner Bros. created Deep Blue Sea. There was a sequel planned, but Shark Attack 2 isn't it, Shark Attack 2 follows on from 1.
