3D painting ??

There is a scence in the film where we look at a three-dimensional painting on the wall. As the camera is moving, the perspective within the painting shifts, which gives a very cool effect.

Does anyone know if this is only a movie prop, or if such 3d-paintings are "real" art one can purchase? I'd be very interested to learn more about that.

Any clues?

i'm almost certain it's a prop, like a theatre background, reason being that this film is based on a stage play and that might be the link, like someone connected to the stage play brought the idea into the film.

i'm going to try see what else i can find about it on the net or somewhere...
