Fantastic under rated overlooked movie. How did this slip by everyone?

All of the negative reviews are from people who are comparing it to top 10 'A' list horror movies. This is an 'A' list horror movie but it was marketed more poorly than many 'B' horror movies. Maybe there were a lot of huge Hollywood movies out when this came out but my wife and I watched it back in 2001 and it has always been in our memory as one of the best horror flicks. Keep in mind that a guilty pleasure of ours is watching bad and good horror flicks. It is very difficult to be original or even creep people out these days but this movie is creepy from the start and stays that way. I'm sure some scenes were inspired by the best horror novels but it's far from being a rip-off. If you see this expecting a 'B' movie you will be thrilled. If you are expecting the next 'Poltergeist' or 'The Shining' then you may be let down.

Sorry - but I watched this also, from start to "finish" and ended up fast-fwd several times it was so dull. The reviews are very correct; it's awful. The acting is mediocre at best, and the "thrill/chill" is horribly directed.

There were no 'cover under the blanket moment's in our house.

I thought the guy's acting was good, not to mention his voice is nice to listen to. Besides that I give it 2/5 stars. It started off strong, had really slow parts, got a little better but I found myself constantly checking how much time was left. Good if nothing else is on.

i did not find it awful. In fact I found it kind of humorous. I liked their relationship. The signs informing her of her numbered days were funny. I don't know, I have seen much worse.
