not scaring and funny

this film is really not worth watching, its some kind of thelma and loise, but not as good as it!
the two women's characters are stupid and the movie is not scaring and not funny! so why?

reply

It was supposed to be scary? For my part, I thought it was pretty damn funny, in a dark humour kind of way.

i totally agree with domainofdarkness!

I agree with you both the plot was unoriginal but the way they did it made it interesting. It was like a dark dry Thelma and Louise. Sometimes I'm in a mood to watch something kinda out there. Although Rachel Weisz should never go blonde again.

I thought it was quite bland. The writer was trying much to hard to be Tarantino - the plot, the mexican stand-off, damn there was even a trunk shot!

Omigod I LOVE Rachel Weisz as a blonde! SHe looks HOT! and her character is cute... both characters are hilerious. I agree with everything else you say though, SmileN

This film came up on TV a few nights ago. I didn't really look at it in comparison with Thelma and Louse. I agree with the reviewrs comments in "In defence of.... this film " on the main page here.

For me it was indeed 'fresh and free..' , and funny. Liked the 2 leads, and Maurice Roeves and Alex Norton always do a good turn. Loved the bit where the young lad, spending his life reading porn, looks up and sees the a real live woman chained to the wall in front of him, wriggling and squirming.

I found this film dark and funny. It was meant to be funny, it's one of those films that make you ask "what if it was men killing women?".

The fact that it's less likely for two women to kill a man who is such a big shot and get away with it, is the attraction of this film. I absolutely adore the two female performances, they both suit the part like a glove. The quality is there.

It's not a Thelma and Louise "hey we're chicks and we rule!" type of film at all. It's simply a what-if sort of situation piece with female leads. It's not a naive feminist yank flick like Thelma and Louise. It's almost situation comedy with a dark subject matter.

I do, however, agree to some point that it's a bit of a poor man's Tarantino film, UK style.

"it's one of those films that make you ask "what if it was men killing women?""
If it was relatively innocent men who were being thoroughly abused by women, we could ask that.
And I didn't think about Tarantino or Thelma and Louise for a second while totally enjoying this movie. I was thinking after a bit it was a tiny bit like a British Fargo. But base on accidental circumstances, not intentional.

I don't believe it was meant to be scary. I'm a fan of the film, as I thought it was a dark humour, but more than anything it is a series of unfortunate events that happen in succession and our leading ladies just can't believe how bad their luck is. The writing is very dry and I do agree that some parts are a little slow, but overall for an hour and a half I can sit there and appreciate it. But i understand that it's not everybodies cup of tea. :)

Did you even bother to read the plot before watching the movie? Where did you get the idea this movie was supposed to be "scary?"

This is an excellent movie, very film noire, and sure it's "kind of like" a Tarantino-esque style in a way (and even that isn't "his" style, it's a collaboration). This is dark comedy, well played, well acted, with a terrific cast. I loved how things played out and found some nice surprises along the way. I don't get why it would be disliked.

Thelma & Louise? Tarantino? NO way. It was more in line with Diabolique (1996).

But it's funny as hell. It's got even a 50% acrylic dog in it.
