Could anyonebody explain to me this part of movie

It was after the play was successfully performed. Charlie brought liquor into the dorm to celebrate with other boys. He later sneaked out to be with Brendan. Then inside the dorm, one boy, the sex offender, asked other boys to open up Charlie's box and it seemed they found sth special so when Charlie came back he was confronted by the finding and was subdued and pulled pants down by the bad boy. I didn't get well on this part, could anyone explain to me, what had they found and why would they pull his pants down, for what? What was really going on?

To me it seemed that they were suspicious of Charlie stealing things since they are not provided with any more "luxury" items than what is normally given to them. Remember it was Charlie who brought them alchohol?
When it got to the part of the necklace, he didn't want to expose his special relationship with Behan and the bad guy sort of took a hint of that and started to gang up on him.

They pulled his pants down because the sex offender guy wanted to gay rape Charlie. It's really obvious.
