Can anyone reccommend any more Hungarian movies? I find all types of foreign films interesting and I can recommend two

Kontroll(you MUST SEE this!)
Üvegtigris (the most successful comedy in Hungary)
Tizedes És A Többiek (excellent comedy in WW2)
A Tanú (it's hard to understand if you're not a hungarian and not old enough)
If so, one of the easiest ways to get foreign films is to go through Netflix. They have both Valahol Europában and Kontroll. I did not find a reference to the other films.

Here, on serbian or croatian tv programmes we can often see hungarian movies. Most of them are very nice!

Glad to see, there is one serbian at least, who likes something hungarian! Watch the "Tanú"(The Witness) if you can! I think you will like it!

Ah, sorry about that 'h', I actually know that you people pronounce Budapest with 'sh'so I tried my best :-))

But many Kusturica films are cult-movies in Hungary! Especially Crna macka, beli macor! One of the funniest comedy, i've ever seen. But when i was younger, i watched the TV series with Ljubisa Samardzic, called VRUC VETAR. That was very popular in the 80's in our country!
oooohhh, VRUC VETAR, that is classic man! All those acting, those hair style and clothing from communist beginning of 1980's, that's something....:-)))
On Sarajevo Film Festival there was a hungarian movie from PEtar Mesarosz last week, hope to see that one soon.

A Tizedes meg a többiek is one of the best hungarian comedy ever made. Fantastic actors, funny situations and cool ww2 motorcycle. :) I recommend everybody to watch it.

SOS Szerelem was really cute and so was Just Sex and nothing else...but one I would definately recommend is Szabadság Szerelem (Children of Glory is the USA title) that one is done very very well...Csinibaba is also very cute and satyrical butyou have to be able to get the humour of it.

I'm not really sure what you are in the mood for but try some Istvan Szabo films; Father, Love Film, 25 Fireman's Street. You may also like Miklos Jancso. Rent The Round-Up, The Red and the White, those are my favorites among his works. There is also a film called Adoption which is a classic.

I recently received as a gift a copy of Abigel, a TV-miniseries that was one of my all-time favorite Hungarian productions.
