Is this movie accurate? Based on the book?

Does this movie seem to be accurate?

That is not to be taken for granted. This is what I seem to remember from Trek history:

William Shatner wrote the book "Star Trek Memories." It was widely condemned as being inaccurate, and Bill's fellow cast members were not happy with him. He eventually made up with them. He semi-apologized for the inaccuracies in the acknowledgments in his book "Star Trek Movie Memories" (1994), where he used the recollections of the cast to improve the accuracy of that second book.

Since this movie came out after the second book, and since the other cast members appear in the movie, I would assume that Shatner made this movie more accurate than the first book. In which case, the movie would not actually be based on the book.

Is all this correct? Or are my own memories faulty?

Since no one else replied, I will.

Now that I have seen "Star Trek Memories" I would say that it seems to be accurate. Much of the history in the movie comes from the other cast members, and none seems controversial. Bill Shatner claims little for himself and does give credit to other people.

Either my version of Trek history is false, or Shatner did learn from the reaction to his "Star Trek Memories" book.
