I was just wondering which of Takashi's best known films [list below] is the most disturbing,the most action packed, the funniest and the best overall film.

If I've missed any that you think should be in there, tell me.

Obviously Miike has directed a lot more movies than this list, but I don't think the likes of Full Metal Yakuza should really make an appearance.

Funniest: Gozu / Happiness of the Katakuris

Best: mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm - Gozu - You must see it.

what's wrong with full metal yakuza?

kicks sh(t out of most, if not all, western films on the same subject. i'm a massive fan of robocop, but i'd argue FMY is better. It's one of the films that introduced me to Miike, and it's got a lot of the elements/leitmotifs that elevate him to genius status

funnest: DOA 2

best overall: tough call here....

ichi the killer/The Bird People in China/DOA2/young thugs:Nostalgia

i like all his work for the most part. some more then others but i havent seen one that i disliked.

Ive seen over 45 of Miikes movies and those are my top 20 (22) movies of his!
