Not so much that the world ends but films that just go so far off the deep end in endings that literally came out of nowhere.

This is older so I don't know if it's relevant or not but there's not much that switches gears quite THIS much...some of Miike's other stuff has some bloody wierd stuff that suddenly happens, the last twenty minutes or so of Audition for example or the last bit of his Masters of Horror episode (though that whole episode is pretty bizarre, the torture scenes in that are some of the hardest to watch I've ever seen, up there with A Serbian Film and such). Only other things I can think of are more about plot, for example the last bit of the Korean film Oldboy has a whole crapload of revelations about why people are doing what they're doing, what all the stuff that's happened happened and so on. Same with the ending for another movie in the Vengeance trilogy "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance", you think things are done and then suddenly there's an ending scene you just don't really expect to see...those aren't really on the sudden supernatural wackiness of this movie though, they're just twists that you don't expect or you'd missed or thought to be minor suddenly becoming major plots.
Consequently, if you have a really strong stomach, the aforementioned Serbian Film has some bizarre revelations at the end of it as well, but honestly that movie is so unpleasant it leaves you wanting a shower by the end, so unless you're ready for really unpleasant rape imagery I'd give it a pass...the director tried to pass it off as some deep metaphor but that's complete garbage, it's just another nasty exploitation rape/gore-fest and while it's shot well, and well acted, the story really isn't worth the imagery you'll need to bleach out of your brain.
