Eric Bana's 'Member'

Is that thing real? anyone know?

reply

When what that featured as I can't remember seeing any male nudity.

reply

Hahaha come on barry04, I doubt it.

^ Basically Chopper is in a bar talking to two FBI agents, a girl and her boyfriend (or whoever) walk in and he, Chopper, unzips his pants and gets his dick out (for quite a long time really). It reminded me of that brief scene in the Departed but way sleazier and slightly more realistic obviously considering what Jack has in his hand lolol

...What her head would look like on a stick

reply

@Lucinda01
It's based in Australia and we don't have an FBI! It's just two detectives.

reply

oops ^ how ignorant of me-in my defence it was late when I was watching it, I just guessed that was who they were, and obviously didn't think about the film being Australian before I posted, sorry lol

...What her head would look like on a stick

reply

is was a fake. he was on a show called 'the panel' and they were talking about it and he said it wasn't real

reply

It's a fake, and Eric Bana was known for just whipping it out whenever he was on set. I'm sure it tells you in the special features of the movie but can't be sure.

reply

Although, to be fair, it didn't actually look real did it?!

reply

Yeah they obviously took a leaf out of the book of Boogie Nights. Like that scene at the very end when Mark Walberg's character flops his out. That was also a falsy.

And yes that happened. He admitted in a live show that he did get his dick out in a bar once. Saying it was at a bar across the road from a ladies tennis club and the girls in teh bar were from there.

reply

You can clearly see it wasn't a real dick. Same thing happens at the end of Boogie Night, it's a plastic one.

People who don't like their beliefs being laughed at shouldn't have such funny beliefs

reply

Not so much ignorant as arrogant, or possibly even naive. Americans seem to think that this planet is the USA, or have had so little contact with the outisde world that they assume American facilities are everywhere.

This is akin to when Americans judge British movies and say foolish crap like "It wasn't very good for a Hollywood flick".

US networks/studios need to allow foreign content onto their table, rather than remaking everything with an American cast, if it wasn't for the fact that Chopper is already in english it would have been remade with Brad Pitt as Chopper. Even then, Chopper rarely saw the light of day in America.

Execs are converting other cultures media into pre-packaged, US-friendly television and it's hurting their nation by alienating Americans from other cultures. Millions of people are becoming the sort of folks that say "I can't understand that english accent, why don't these people have guns? They are driving on the wrong side of the road, they keep spelling words with U's in them." Americans are becoming isolated as a nation, with the exception of a few who already have a taste for other cultures. But this damage is being done to millions by a tiny handful of execs who just want to put asses on sofas for the primetime show and make a buck.

Sorry for going off on a rant but I *beep* hate how Americans are slowly but surely becoming Paris Hiltons.

With your feet on the air and your head on the ground, try this sig with spinach, yeah!

reply

raf-33: What is arrogant and naive, are the dumb-a$$es making sweeping blanket statements about Americans. There are stupid people from any country- take yourself, for example. I wouldn't judge your betters based on your sad display, now would I?

reply

Lame-a**. You could've easily argued about the merits of someone mistaking the brand name of a cigarette featured in the film and couldn't have come across any dumber.

"I'm sick of you bleeping Americans confusing Chesterfields for Marlboros! The whole world doesn't smoke your brand!"

Interesting but not suprising that you make a sweeping generalization about a nation of people, then throw in a media reference, to show just how much irony was wasted on you.

So, Eric Bana's penis was a fake, but you sir, on the other hand, are a real d*ck.

reply

Got to agree with you acolonelofcorn, re raf-33's insulting rebuke to that person who mistakenly though that the cops were FBI, was typical of a certain type of person who is jingoist and ignorant to the end – what we have to put up with eh?

Simon (from Sydney)

reply

I don't really get you were authentically apologizing for the rant and so I don't forgive you for it. It was over the top. You have a pet peeve and it is no different from any other prejudice including racial. Get over yourself.

reply

In fairness, she did apologize for her ignorance you know. I can be somewhat anti-American, not with regard to the people; I know many very nice Americans, but to the US Government and it's 'saviour' (or should that be 'savior' of the universe) attitude, and the double standards they continually employ. Some American's are egocentric, bigoted and unpleasant, but then in fairness, so are people from every country, including the UK (mine). I don't think Lucinda can be held accountable for the entire American culture (unless she knows something we don't!)

reply

Due to the fact that Lucinda spelt 'defence' with a 'c' as opposed to an 's' I would have thought she would be from the UK..........Now who's ignorant, arrogant and naíve?

reply

"Lighten up, Francis." - Sgt. Hulka

Agree with some of your comments but sometimes a fella just makes an honest mistake. Not all Americans are becoming Paris Hiltons - some are Becoming Pony Boi:)

reply

Way to generalize and stereotype Americans there Raf.

Not so much ignorant as arrogant, or possibly even naive

Or maybe they could have used the term "F.B.I" as a reference to any federal police force. I know Canada has the RCMP which is basically the FBI of Canada. So who's to say someone may not have just figured "hey, Australia likely has the same thing" and without knowing the name they just used F.B.I as it's a pretty well known organization.

Or maybe...You know..Like they said, they just didn't notice it was an Australian film.

Life would be much more enjoyable if I had just one thing...Season 8 of the Shield.

reply

From what I understand about the RCMP, they're more like State Troopers/national symbols. I think CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Service) would be a more appropriate comparison to the FBI.
Come on!

Yeah, and they would have Americanized it - cut out the ears-slicing scene, the girl-punching scene, they would have turned Chopper into a saint.

Funny to think that Brad Pitt later co-starred with Chopper in Troy.

reply

What an ass.

Luckily, I happen to know some fine folks from Australia, so I won't make such a blanket statement as you have about all Australians.

reply

a completely uncalled for rant...he didnt ask..WHY DOESN'T Australia have an FBI...he called them the FBI by mistake because of the similarities. You sound like the arrogant prick you just accused an entire country of being.

forgiving your stereotype, in the future try not to generalize since I'm sure u'd accuse Americans of doing teh same thing when looking at other cultures

you have some decent points about remaking movies to Americanize them, the hollywood machine might not be the best thing for movies, and I lose more and more faith in it every time I hear about another remake. (Texas chainsaw massacre circa like 2004 is gonna be remade? wha?) But you forget that everywhere does this, different countries rip different ideas of of other countries...The British have their equivalents of our stories...Bollywood remakes american cinema to INDIANIZE? it. This happens so the cultures can better relate to the characters and the stories, so don't try to blame it on America alone.

So instead of trying to find a problem with everything, think about what you say before type because once its on the internets its there forever

reply

That is quite a generalization. I like soccer, hate NFL Football. Love British comedy, love Europe, Elton, Princess Di, most of the royal family and hate most small minded, rural Americans. We are so blinded by "religion" we can't find anyone to bring a movie about Darwin out in the US. yet we do drugs, watch porn and swill alcohol far too much. You can not tell how all Americans feels by reading IMDb. When I retire it will be in a country far from here!

reply

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

reply

Give it a rest. How arrogant do you think you sound?

This whole anti-America thing we have going in Australia is rediculous. Yes, we should keep our own culture and stop Americanising ourselves, but don't go jumping on honest and harmless mistakes and claiming all Americans are self-centred and ignorant. Don't be so high and mighty and start behaving like an Australian and discuss cocks with the rest of us.

And yeah, I assume it was fake in the film, it looked like it.

reply

No, it was a simple & very common mistake, that's it. Notice the immediate & humble apology ... or did you see that & just decide to ignore it, as a piss-poor excuse to spread your hatred & discrimination?

The ONLY person in this entire thread exhibiting arrogance is YOU, along with several other equally dispicable traits, such as the already mentioned hate & discrimination. It would be safe & accurate to add several other examples of your childish & immature ways of acting also, but I'll let other posters mention their own feelings about your type of purposely insulting hate-speech. Because I'm 100% sure that I'm not the ONLY person here who has grown very tired of people like you, always on the look-out for ANY situation which gives you an oppurtunity to preach your disgusting invidiousness.

If it weren't for throwbacks like you, the human race would very likely be about a hundred years closer to everyone treating everyone else as an equal, not a lesser. We've undeniably come a long ways since blacks were considered slaves, Jews were considered inferior, women were considered less intelligent, & gays were considered a sickness. But there's still plenty like you, always ready to hurl insults, discrimination, hatred, & numerous other less-than-desirable traits, aimed at an entire people simply because of their location on this planet.

You can deny & lie if you want, but your own words & the way you used them proves the fact that if Lucinda01 had been from ANY other country than the U.S., & had made the same innocent mistake that she did, you wouldn't have uttered a single peep about it. But just because of her nationality, that gave you yet another perfect oppurtunity to start spewing your venom upon her. (I'm assuming she's a she based on the name, if not, then I deeply apologize)

I sincerely hope you haven't taught your children, if you have any, to be as single-minded as you are when it comes to nationality. And if you did force your ignorance upon them, I hope they have more tolerance of others than you do & decide not to continue your tradition of disgustingness. (I'm not sure that's a real word, but the meaning it gives fits you perfectly)

The human race, as a people, have greatly progressed in the last 30 years or so towards seeing every other person as simply a fellow inhabitant of this planet. Thanks to people trapped in 1950 & refusing to evolve past the massive amount of discrimination in that era, such as yourself, we're not there yet. But you & the league of your fellow haters won't be here forever. And typically, newer generations are much more tolerant and much less narrow-minded than their parents. So hopefully the obviously large amount of hate in your blood-line stops with you.

Lastly, you can bitch, gripe, scream, whatever you want to do about this post, if that's what you feel like doing. But you won't be discussing it with me, because I don't waste any more time than minimally possible in conversations with people like you.

Ciao.

"Not so much ignorant as arrogant, or possibly even naive. Americans seem to think that this planet is the USA, or have had so little contact with the outisde world that they assume American facilities are everywhere. "

So, via your logic, someone is naive and arrogant for being groggy and tired and making a mistake about a character's nationality. THAT is naive and arrogant.

Yet it is NOT arrogant, naive, and/or ignorant to assume what ALL AMERICANS ASSUME. No, that is not arrogant, not at all! (sarcasm alert)

This is passive-aggressive projection if I've ever seen it, you use "Americans seem to think this planet is the USA." Translation: "I think that it seems Americans think the whole planet is the US because I've posted on message boards with them and therefore I know that all Americans are like-minded when it comes to this."

"So little contact with the outside world that they (Reality: YOU) assume (Translation: You assume what all of us think) American facilities are everywhere."

"Americans are becoming isolated as a nation, with the exception of a few who already have a taste for other cultures. But this damage is being done to millions by a tiny handful of execs who just want to put asses on sofas for the primetime show and make a buck.

Sorry for going off on a rant but I *beep* hate how Americans are slowly but surely becoming Paris Hiltons."

Yeah, you should be sorry, what you said what some of the most hypocritical and needlessly spiteful crap I've ever seen. You clearly have some insecurities about all of this, as evidenced in your posts. You tell a man that he is arrogant and naive for making a mistake, A. MISTAKE. While you purposefully put down all Americans while trying to come off as an enlightened individual with some epiphany-rendering social commentary. Some true paradigm-shifting crap you got here, bub.

You clearly have no idea how much of the U.S population makes fun of the Paris HIltons of the world. Which, btw, is NOT exclusive to the U.S, British Royalty is a great example of false-idolization. I'm not too familiar with Australian Governance and social nuances, nor should I be. Nor am I ignorant or arrogant for that position. If I presumed what all Aussies think about Americans or I presume to know what all Aussies assume, like you did with Americans, then I become ignorant, arrogant, AND naive, just like you.

As I said earlier, you were projecting your EXACT character flaws onto someone who'd made a simple mistake. One you could have easily made. And one I guarantee you'd make within the myriad of Asian cinema, sub-genres, genres that transcend Asian nations, genres that are exclusive only to certain areas of China, or Japan, or Korea. I think you get my point, and if not, I really don't care to push it :), you'll either admit to yourself what you clearly did, or you'll deny it while knowing it's true, and get angry with me and yourself, or you'll just delude yourself into thinking you're right. Now that isn't projection since this is a documented character flaw amongst all peoples across the World Wide Web.

That was a funny scene. I loved the police man's expression when he realised what Chopper had done. He looked absolutely disgusted!!

It was totally fake. For one thing, the color was off, and by that I mean it didn't look like any kind of appendage attached to a living human. And the size didn't seem commensurate with Bana's physique.

My opinion is that censors require moviemakers to present certain male nudity in slightly exaggerated and unreal form or suffer an NC17 or X rating. This would fall under the salacious use of exposed penises, like in "Boogie Nights," "Hostel 2" and "Chopper." Seems like you can show the real thing when it's incidental or comic (e.g., "Sideways," "Leaving Sarah Marshall").

reply

i've known a small man with a massive penis so the size of a man bears no indication of the size of his penis. I bet Arnie's d**k is tiny! hahaha!
I reckon you might be right though about the censors, we hardly ever get to see a nice bit of male nudity, maybe if its a european film!

reply

the penis was a prosthetic. Eric Bana's real member is a giant green monster that holds much promise, but is ultimately "too heady" and dissapointing

reply

I think Bana´s wife is so lucky anyway...
