Anyone else find the dvd a dissapointment?

Now, I watched the show when it was originally on UK PLAY and loved it. I can't believe that there are no music videos , they cut them out, they used to have the funniest 'rock facts' running along the bottom of the screen like 'Blur drummer Dave Rowntree likes drumming, "I like drumming" said the drummer.' For me, they were as key as the sketches in between, I just find it spoils my enjoyment, it's still good but very annoying. It says on the case that certain musical edits have been made for contractual reasons. What, if they could show it complete with music videos, when aired on TV, why not on the dvd, were they just not prepared to pay a bit more? I mean, for the sake of peanuts to BBC they just butchered a great aspect of the show!

I didn't even realise they'd released it on DVD. That is absolutely stupid though, the "Pop-Up Video" aspect of the show was a huge part of its appeal, to cut it out really is ridiculous.

'This life came so close to never happening.'

Yeah it really doesn't work on it's own. The vox pop moments were great too, but now quite a lot of other character/impressions are lost. The music vids we're a pivotal part of the show, and without them it doesn't work.
The saving graces of the dvd (if you'd call them that) are the extra footage, such as Matt Lucas as Charlotte Church doing the spoof of cribs;

"Pedje su, peeedje su" lol

When she goes into her bedroom and her Mother is laid on the bed and she says" You bitch, what are you doing? "Do you think I pay you to sit around all day reading bloody heat magazine, get some bloody work done bitch." The Will Young/Gareth Gates one's good too. "Oooh look at that gel on the ring piece"

Haha! "Ooh gel on the knob." And I love when 'Charlotte' spits on the floor and then smiles at the camera.
I love the Ralf Little sketches. Matt totally steals them. I don't think I've ever laughed so much in my life. I love the Lou Reed/Andy Warhol when he's like, "you gotta have a go like, you gotta have a go. Put a logo, a soup can on it sell it to the A-rabs! A million quid I wouldn't pay it...this is my long-running Adam Woodyatt series."

I'm disappointed that the 'pop up video' things aren't on there...the 'rock facts' don't really make much sense on their own.

The problem is that the music industry have a deal where songs can be used on broadcast programmes for a standard (and very small) fee, but once they're used on DVD, and hence money is being made from the sale of it, the amount they have to pay is hugely increased. To the point, where on something like "Rock Profile", it really wouldn't be commercially viable even to release it. So it's not actually peanuts, but a lot of money to include it. Unfortunate, but that's how it is.

...I got it on Saturday and I think it's great! 'Rock the blind' was totally hilarios and the cribs spoof even more so.

Also some labels refuse point blank to allow resale copies at any price. This is why some tracks are removed from "Only Fools and Horses" but not others.

I too was disappointed that the music videos were not included, but come on, it's still damn funny.
