Anyone Watch This Who's Never Been To NY???

I put this on my Netflix queue because it was recommended, after watching all of 'Roots' and 'The Civil War', etc. I've never been to NYC; Just the fake NYC in Las Vegas. :) But, this is the sort of epic documentary that I can just get sucked into.

Great music and voice actors, and especially David Ogden Stiers' narration. I love how he pauses every few words, like a mellow version of Captain Kirk. He could narrate anything and make it sound wonderful. Example:

'And on a Friday. At noon. I stood in McDonald's. And received. A burger with no pickles. And asked the zitfaced kid. Behind the counter. If his parents had any children. That lived.'

:D

I'm watching it now, and I've never been to New York, sadly. The series is magnificent, like a wonderful history class. The narration is great, George Plimpton's voice is ideal for the subject.

Since it was made in 1999, many of the narrators and comentators have since passed away.
