I read the book and thought it would make a good TV show but this IMDB entry has never been updated!

Shown on BBC in UK July/August 2004, now showing on Showtime Cable channel in Australia (April 2005)

Just watched the final episode tonight (Australia). Excellant series, wonderfully led by Mark Strong. Harry is a bad guy but very likeable.

One of the best scenes was when the Nigerian Minister busts Strong and Jacobi threatening to torture a swindler in Nigeria. Nice contrast between the tough guy out of his own environment and the local who owns this environment.

me too, just watched the last part last night. Excellent mini-series. Mark Strong is really good in the role: handsome, mentally ill, tender, vicious & gay which is something other posters havent mentioned. His homosexuality adds another layer to this above average tv mini-series

It sure does, and very refreshing with how he deals with it.

"I'm not gay, I'm homosexual.....gay sounds like a nancy boy".

excellent bbc drama, loved each second of it, esp him. He potrays a gangster as good as robert de niro.

Very enjoyable series, Mark Strong makes this what it is, and I believe he was pretty much unknown until he did this.
