Because she took some time off from acting apparently. Right when "Jack" ended, then-boyfriend Tem Morrison got the gig in "Star Wars" as Janga Fett. So I think she spent about three years attending assorted openings and preieres with him around the world. Evidently they split after something like 12 years together (from when she was barely 18 - you go, Tem! ) About a year after that, she began acting again in NZ. She did several episodes of a comedy series there called "Serial Killers," as well as two movies (which I think were direct to video over here.)
It's entirewly conceivable that she continues to be active *in New Zealand* - doing stage work for example, or commercials.
It's also possible that for all we know, she might have dumped Morrison to get married to someone else, and she may be raising llots of little Docthcins now. ;)
Or for that matter, she might now be into directing or producing, in NZ. Or modelling, for that matter.
Ya know it always seems that people who never make it big don't play the liberal tune. Yeh if ya don't sign up for the Jane Fonda school of weirdness ya don't make it. Sad so sad.
And what makes you think to know her political leanings?? And if you claim that it is just because she didn't go all out "jane fonda" then that would mean that the majority who made it big, didn't make it big, because very, very few have gone all out "jane fonda". I'd also like to know how you would describe Clint Eastwood as signing up for the Jane Fonda school of weirdness? I suppose he never made it big? Kelsey Grammar? Charlton Heston? Tom Selleck? James Woods? James Caan? Shame none of them never really seemed to make it big. A bigger shame when people try to make every little thing about politics.
To Love and win is the best thing. To Love and lose, the next best.
I live in NZ and we haven't seen hide nor hair of her over here. No commercials, no mention of her in plays (not that I'm that up with theatre). It is a pity, she's a good actress and very pretty.
Yep - she appeared in that one episode of Serial Killers... and did a direct-to-dvd movie filmed there but presumably released in Europe and/or the US.... but nothing since.
Conceivably she's directing, although even with that, you'd think her name would turn up in the occasional press release. And she's not listed with any of the NZ talent agencies, so it would seem unliklely that she's even doing voice work. Possibly she might be teaching acting somewhere....or maybe she got into another field entirely. For that matter, maybe she got married and is a FT mum now! :)
According to http://www.throng.co.nz/shortland-street/where-are-they-now dated April this year: After splitting with long term love Temurea Morrison, she left to build a new life in Britain, five years ago. Currently single she quit acting but still enjoys a glamorous life traveling Europe as a personal assistant in the fashion industry, until recently with top Jewellers Bulgari. “She seems very settled and happy there,” says her NZ agents Robert Bruce.
Shame she didn't have a longer and more successful career in acting, she's great fun in Jack of All Trades and stunningly beautiful. Bond girl material.
