'Sara,are you there'

Why does Frederico say "Sara are you there?" when,to me,he already knows she's dead?

I thought it was one of the cops who said that...?

reply

No,Frederico says it. That's why I"m asking.

No, it's the walkie talkie he picked up off the floor. It's another cop.

That makes sense. I'm going to have to watch it again to see what made me think that. I don't belive in luck. It's not a tangible asset where some people have more than others do. To me,either something happens,or it doesn't. There is nothing innate in people to where they have more "Luck" than others do. And can "Exercise" that luck at will. Liquor & Whores,Bitches!

This movie reminded me of Umberto Eco's "Foucault's Pendulum". In it, a man becomes involved with a group of people with odd beliefs. He slowly becomes convinced that their beliefs are true (bringing the reader along with him) .... until his wife laughs at him and explains it all away. What this movie was missing was the snap back to reality at the end.

A snap back to reality would mean that the people were not living in the real world. Just one that they believed was real. Like their luck. They were living in a fantasy world dominated by their absurd belief in the fact that "Luck" was real. Liquor & Whores,Bitches!

A snap back to "reality" would have killed the movie.

The movie is depicted as really happening. Those people have really been lucky except when confronted with each other.

The cops say that. There is a sound of a door opening. Frederico looks up. He is waiting to surrender to the cops. he has probably realised that luck runs out in the end.
