Can't decide what is worse
this or the Rob Zombie movies
shareThis is much, much worse. No contest.
shareThis was worse than Rob Zombie's Halloween. About par for #2.
The rest of his movies is as toss up. His dialogue is the biggest detriment to his movies.
i can enjoy this crap more than the "reboots"
shareI would say this movie is definitely the worst
shareThe Rob Zombie films are worse. This has the excuse of being part 8 where they have run out of ideas. Rob Zombie started fresh and still messed it up.

"which is worse . . " of the choices you've given?
The toughest question I've never had an answer for.
This is the worst of Halloween outside of the newest films. Rob Zombie’s first film is really good for what it is and too many are unfair on it because it’s a remake
shareHow are they unfair?
It takes Halloween and does "something new" with it, and that's about all the good things you can say about it. But that implies that "something new" is inherently a good thing and taking chances should be praised by default
Every character from the original is done worse. Every single one. Dr. Loomis, Laurie Strode, and Sheriff Brackett are certainly worse. Annie in the remake is hotter, that's the only positive thing I can say about that version of the character. Lynda in the original was a dumb hot airhead, but her death is iconic and she provides some comic relief. This version is absolutely forgettable
The new characters and additions to the lore are all overwrought garbage. It shows, to be blunt about it, Rob Zombie's stupidity. As a writer he completely fails in re-interpreting a character like Michael Myers. He tries to explain away an inexplicable force of nature and basically just carbon-copies modern Leatherhead/Jason. OF COURSE a product of bullying and/or abuse would grow up to be a monster, right? And he just happens to grow up to be extremely big and powerful, of course
In the original, Michael wasn't massive. You wouldn't expect a child who lived most of their life in a psychiatric institution, who has parents that aren't particularly large, to grow up to be a very strong and physically intimidating
Carpenter, being an intelligent filmmaker, knew this. Instead, Myers's strength and seeming immortality just remain unexplained. He is simply the boogeyman, born and possessed of pure evil, which is where his power stems from. He wasn't abused, he had a normal childhood. But something just went wrong and no one will ever understand why
Zombie either didn't understand this or he purposely chose to go in the exact opposite direction. That's ok, I'm open minded. But he didn't do anything good or clever by going opposite. There is absolutely nothing insightful in his depiction of bullying and abuse creating a monster
