Why people hates this movie so much?

I liked this movie. I know people always said "Halloween Resurrection never happened" because big problem with H20 ending Michael's head off. But I don't like H20 ending Michael killed off, that made me pissed off. I'm big fan of Michael Myers. I don't believe H20 was final movie. I knew they finally made sequel Halloween Resurrection.

I wish if H20 ending Michael never his head off, he just escape. Maybe people likes Halloween Resurrection. I guess

Because they shouldn't have killed Laurie off. Or at least not in the way they did. So basically everything she went through in the previous films was for nothing. Nope, sorry. H20 is the real ending for me. Laurie killed Michael and went on to live her life. Besides that, Resurrection is just an awful film. The characters are absolutely terrible so you don't care whatsoever whether they die or not, and you can tell they put no real thought into this movie.

We saw Halloween with Michael in III and it bombed at the time and was only accepted much later. We saw Halloween without Laurie in 4-6 and in those 3 semi successful films we had Michael and Loomis. That says it all when it comes to how the franchise can continue with whom, Laurie or Michael. Basically, Michael is the franchise, Laurie is not, so who lives and who dies ultimately is obvious.

Hey I'm with the OP, I actually liked this movie and after the three previously terrible portrayals of Michael, I thought it was very refreshing to see this Loree guy do a much better job. Hell even the mask was actually pretty scary in this film and much better than the crap the put on the actors faces in the last four movies, and don't get me started on the Rob Zombie remakes. I know they don't keep Michael in the shadows as much as they did in the first two (the ones everyone seems to agree are the best) but like I said compared to the four previous films and the three previous actors I thought this movie was way better and much more enjoyable.

I think that Durand was the only bad Michael. Nothing wrong with Shanks/Wilbur/Lerner. Personal opinion, though.

Nobody touches Dick Warlock, Dave. Phenomenal Myers.

Movies in theater: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 10/10. Vacation 8/10. Psycho 10/10

I respectfully disagree. He's not the worst, but not the best either.

Because it's one of the worst things ever put on film. Its total and complete greed with the actual fans of the series being an after thought. Every second of this "product" screams cash grab. It is the polar opposite of H20, which was intended as a love note to fans of the first two films. This not only *beep* all over the excellent ending of H20, it kills Laurie off before introducing one completely unlikeable character after another. As if anyone would give a *beep* about them. Puke. The series was fittingly ended then abruptly restarted with nothing but farts in its tank. H20 was the end. I am absolutely disgusted with whatever thing is. In fact, I put it in the same category as Jason takes Manhattan or Nightmare 5. It's best to pretend it didn't happen.

One of the biggest sources of fan outrage with Halloween: Resurrection was that it killed off franchise hero, Laurie Strode. There are two major problems with killing Laurie in Resurrection. First, Laurie’s death is delivered in an almost perfunctory manner that does a huge disservice to her character. Yes, the logic underlying the death scene follows through on Resurrection’s retconning of H20’s ending. Nonetheless, it still cheapens Laurie’s journey to kill her off in the movie’s opening minutes.

Unfortunately, in Halloween: Resurrection, Laurie’s death is immediately followed by what amounts to nothing more than a standard slasher flick.

Second, Rosenthal doesn’t use Laurie’s death to push the franchise in new directions. Killing off a major character can work for franchises (see my argument for it in Scream 4). It sends a message that no one is safe, adding intrigue to a stale narrative. Unfortunately, in Halloween: Resurrection, Laurie’s death is immediately followed by what amounts to nothing more than a standard slasher flick. She’s even replaced by a boring, listless ‘Final Girl’ in Sara Moyer (Bianca Kajlich). Sadly, Halloween Resurrection wastes Laurie’s death.

Of all the things Halloween: Resurrection gets wrong, it’s biggest offence is that it’s not scary. In fact, the scariest scene in Resurrection is its final camera shot. And that’s a lazy set-up for another sequel. Some of the problem stems from its gimmicky use of the ‘reality TV’ angle. Writers Sean Hood and Larry Brand tack a commentary on society’s needs to watch other’s tragedies.

I remember waiting for this to come out with excitement after H20. I think it's simply that after how good and well budgeted H20 was, people were expecting a lot more and instead it was back to the Halloween 5 level of quality.
