One of the best anime mini series

This mini series is brilliant, it's from the guy that brought you Ninja Scroll, and it's one of my favourite cyberpunk anime films. Anyone who like sci-fi manga, go out and find this, it's as good as it gets.

I recently picked up the first two episodes on EBay, I first saw it about 10 years ago on TV in the UK and had to pick up a copy for nostalgic reasons.
It still looks good and provides plenty of entertainment, music's pretty cool too.

Just picked up the third video, complete with data card. Not a bad series at all :)

Man I saw this series i think before I saw any other anime series and I loved it straight away. I became obsessed.
And I know that everyone loves to speculate but I'm certain that done right, this could be a terrific movie. For about a decade Ive wondered who could play who and how you'd go about ripping the cartoon into live action. Or maybe this is best left an unknown gem.
Actually how would you make it appealing to those with no knowledge of its origin??

I bought all three episodes at an anime convention 2 years ago for $3 each. It was a great series. This is one of the few times that I actually prefer the English Dub version over the original Japanese. Sengoku is probably my favorite. He has such a *beep* You" attitude towards the world and his collegues. The bishonen Benten had a really awesome weapon with him cutting people in half and stuff. I liked Googles also, cause I was under the impression that he was there simply to catch computer hackers. And to see him beating the hell out of that robot in episode 2 was pretty cool. Great, underrated series!

I'm not Stormy, I'm he who smokes b*tches!

same here,, saw it on Ch4 anime season where they showed arguably some of the best stuff available until at the time

the CD of this was ruined by using dialogue ..and isnt it time this was released on DVD? manga video may as well close as they are severely dropping the ball with their dvds

There is a DVD version out in the states but has the original Japanese score, not Rory McFarlane's excellent music.

Wow great to see that this series still exists in the minds of a few people. I actually taped it from the same channel 4 after midnight showing that some people mentioned watching it on, on this discussion board. That was way back in like 1994 and still i come back to this as it is just fantastic. The animation is so fluid and smooth and still looks good now. Its stylish and has great characterisation. In the early days of manga and anime in the west i always thought this would be one of the breakthrough shows but it never became famous. I guess some great examples of anime sometimes slip through the net, while others are remembered and loved even though they dont quite come up to Cyber Citys standard, eg Crying Freemen or Dominion Tank Police. I am glad to see that there are still a few people out there, you people on this board who really like this series, and i suppose it will be our anime secret in the history and annals of anime and manga in the UK.

I used to watch it about 10 years ago, on bravo, I forgot the name, and since, having gotten Internet access, been trying to find the name of the series.

I watched this 11 years ago when it came on Channel 4. They used to show some great Anime like Devilman, 3x3 Eyes, Battle Angel Alita. Does anyone know the name of the anime series which has a group of brothers or friends and each of them could turn into dragons? It used to come on Channel 4.

It certainly is excellent, the English dub version has some hillarious and cool lines.
The 3rd episode with the old vampire guy is the best.

Cyber City Odeo 808, Megazone 23 III, Akira (and Ghost in the Shell) are prob. my favs. Those Japanese are visionary artists.
