Last scene with Crystal on the witness stand; Svengali

Did anybody catch what she said. It was something like "He was such a spengali (or frengali)."?????? Can anybody help me out here? Would that be Svengali, and what does it mean.

Svengali is like a mentor. But she said Svangeli. However, they made it sound a bit like that's the reason her case was thrown out of court, because she couldn't pronounce a word that was supposed to have a big meaning to her. Which is ridiculous.
