ok when the 70 yr old willis has his dog chester, that's great, but a dog can't live 30 yrs. 30 yrs b4 that when he's 40, he gets chester and gives it to amy.

shareLots of people name their new dogs after previous dead dogs. He could of had loads of Chesters. Also do we hear the name of the dog he gives to Amy? Maybe they didn't call that one Chester.
shareYes, over the years, we've had four black and tan dachshunds and named them all the same name. It's not so weird.

The dog is certainly referred to as Chester. In the diner scene near the end we hear the 70 year old Willis call the dog Chester. Then Rusty says to Russ "Did you hear what he just called his dog?" to which Russ replies "Chester!".

If you mean the puppy we see at the end then no its never referred to as Chester. The Chester we see in the diner belonged to the 70 year old Russ and that makes it at least 30 years older than the puppy we see. I doubt that it's supposed to be the same dog unless old Russ got him from 25 years earlier in his time traveling.
