How is Hilary duff in the movie?

i think that she is much more mature in this movie ... why cant she be like this in her other movies ?? she needs to act in more contreversial movies so that she could get people's attention and hopefully win an Oscar!.. might be a decade..

More importantly, why does that annoying brat get to work with a genius like Gondry? And then just go on with her life? Sad...

reply

Hilary Duff is not a brat. If she was then she would not be so popular. she also wouldn't be in sooooooo many movies, like this one.

reply

haha I'm sorry did someone say she WOULDN'T be so popular if she was a brat? That has to be the funniest thing I have ever read. It'd be true if the antithesis wasn't already true.

reply

Justin Bieber is a brat. But I guess he's not that popular.

reply

She's in it for like two minutes and she doesn't do anything.

reply

How can anyone says that she isn't a brat? She sucks. She really does. But that are examples of great movies with great directors with terribles brats like her.
That's when the movies industries enters. Sometimes it might ruins the master piece. Not saying that human nature is a master piece, but at least it has an amazing screenwriter and a good director.
And the brat... well, for now, she is just a teen movie actrees, let's hope that it changes...

She's a brat based on what?

Are you in some position where you are qualified to criticize, or are you just being a butt hole? Do you even work for a living?

I feel some pity and empathy for children/teens who pushed to act/sing/perform sports; sure, they are compensated with attention and adulation, but that fame is fickle and empty (case in point, you), and by the time they hit their adult years many are burnt out. I'll tell you this, brat or not, they work a hell of a lot harder than you or I ever did at their age, unless you were one, too.

I'm not particularly a fan, I know a bit about Hilary from what my kids watch and listen to, and from what I've read. I've seen nothing to indicate that she is a brat, but I haven't gone digging for all the dirt, either. In her favor, she seems clean cut, her characters are engaging, several comments in bios indicate that other actors and actresses enjoyed working with her, she's multi-talented - her songs aren't bad. Unlike some of her contemporaries, her talent does not appear to be waning; or she's just more selective in what parts she plays.

So, you say, "She sucks. She really does." What exactly do you mean by that? Where are you when you apply this same standard to yourself? Are you the epitome of non-suckiness, or are you the Hoover Master?

Who is Hilary Duff?

reply

The real question is 'Why is Hilary Duff?'... don't we already have enough of these semi-talented teenies desperately trying to make the transition from teen-TV to the real world of movies? and fated to be forgotten and finally appear on those 'where are they now' columns and shows?

reply

I saw the movie last night and I tought I had recognized her but I couldn't believe that was her until she spoke. It's not that I like her or anything, but I really wish that kid could get rid of those candy-corn movies once and for all and do more stuff like this! I'd be pleased to see her doing something else!

she's in the movie for 2 minutes. I didn't know it was her until I saw it in the credits. She's fine as a young lila.

reply

She made a great young Lila, you can tell because I never would have guessed it was her despite her fame.

what seen was she in?

(i saw this movie)

reply

Duff played Lila as a child, in the scene where she removed her shirt to look at the hair growing on her chest and belly.

I can't believe the "Hillary Duff's in this movie!" thread is one of the most active.
